Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled racial identity and sexuality with comical wit before broadening her presence to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her initial music experience. She performed on the trumpet. In the following years, she took up traditional and hip-hop training. At college, she concentrated in her studies, pursuing a degree in both journalism and women's issues. for a brief amount of time in Beijing as well, she was also studying Mandarin. Following graduation, she decided to devote her time to music. Her song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity across the Internet in 2012. It would later be included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. This track was directly linked to her other venture, Awkwafina's NYC guide to traveling published in 2015. As a musician and an author among her accomplishments, she decided to focus on becoming a third endeavor actor. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she has also appeared in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of famous films such as Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
